| Ayurveda is "an ancient medical treatise summarizing the Hindu art of healing and prolonging life". The tradition of Ayurveda dates back to Vedic epoch of India and Ayurveda is sometimes considered as the 5th Veda. In Sanskrit terminology, Ayur means life and Veda means knowledge. Therefore Ayurveda is the knowledge of life, to live a vigorous and disease-free life. Ayurveda is the holistic treatment of the soul, mind and the body that has been practiced in India by the ancient sages of India since yore. It is practiced in India for more than 5000 years and is regarded as an alternative form of medicine. Ayurveda traces its origin to two schools of thought- the School of Physicians (Atreya) and the School of Surgeons (Dhanvantari). It encompasses eight branches- Kaya-chikitsa, Kaumarabhritya, Shalya Tantra, Vajikarana, Shalakya Tantra, Bhuta Vidya, Agada Tantra and Rasayana. Ayurveda is related to the 'Five Great Elements' (Panchmahabhuta) theory. These five elements are earth (prithvi), water (jal), fire (Agni or tej), air (vayu) and space or sky (akash). The body is considered as the universe and subdivided according to these five elements and treatment is done accordingly. |
| Day 1: Cochin (Arrival) |
| On arrival at airport in Cochin, Fair Trip tour representative will meet you and assist you in smooth transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, embark on a sightseeing tour of Cochin which includes visit to Dutch Palace Museum, St. Francis Church, Hill Palace Museum, Jewish Synagogue, Jewish Street and Chinese Fishing Nets. | Day 2: Cochin – Munnar (140 Km – 04 Hours drive) |
| After breakfast, check out of the hotel and leave by road for an enchanting trip to Munnar. On the way to Munnar, feast upon the panoramic views of the Cardamom Hills and green carpets of tea plantation. Upon arrival in Munnar, check into the hotel/resort. In free time, you may choose to relax in your room and start trekking around the estate. Stay overnight in hotel. |
| Day 3: Munnar (sightseeing) |
| After breakfast, Start to sightseeing tour of Munnar which includes visit to Kundale Lake, Shooting Point, Echo Point, Mattupetty Dam and Eravikulam National Park. Stay overnight in hotel. |
| Day 4: Munnar–Thekkady (110 Km – 03 Hours drive) |
| After breakfast, check out of the hotel and leave by road to Thekkady (Periyar). Upon arrival, check in at the hotel to freshen up. In the afternoon, embark on a sightseeing tour of Thekkady such as Murikkady, Chellar Kovil, Mangala Devi Temple and Periyar National Park. Stay overnight in hotel Thekkady. |
| Day 5: Thekkady/Alleppey (by road 150 km/4 hrs) |
| After breakfast, sightseeing tour of Alleppey (the land of backwaters and backbone of Kerala tourism). Enjoy the beauty of nature as your houseboat meanders through the network of lakes, lagoons and canals. In the evening, enjoy sunset cruise on the backwaters of Kerala. Stay overnight in hotel Kerala. |
| Day 6: Alleppey – Kovalam (180 Km/04 Hours drive) |
| After breakfast, check out of the houseboat and leave by road to Kovalam. Upon arrival in Kovalam, check in at the hotel. In the evening, enjoy sand and surf at Kovalam Beach. Stay overnight in hotel Kovalam. |
| Day 7 - 13: Kovalam (Ayurveda Treatments) |
| From day 7 to 13, you will harmonize with nature at Kovalam beach. Located close to Arabian Sea, Kovalam Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Kerala-Lighthouse, Samudra and Hawah. | Day 14: Trivandrum (Departure) |
| After breakfast, check out of the hotel and get transferred to the airport at Trivandrum for flight to your onward destination. |
